Awesome! So easy to lift- was moving with a friend and after figuring it out for 2-3 minutes we probably ended up saving a few hours of lifting. It is comfortable and easy to use! Never moving without one of these again. Also, we got bored, so decided to lift this dumpster out back at the end.......... 650 lbs roughly....... Update: Moved a super bulky playhouse across the yard and into the right location with my 68 year old father. There would have been no other way of doing this!

If I could give it six stars, I would. I had seen these before but poo pooed them off as "as seen on TV" items. Recently we decided to "upgrade" our LG fridge that we HATED, with a new 26' cubic foot, five door Whirlpool. In our house, the fridges work their way out the door via the laundry room where our 14 year old Amana counter depth model had been residing since buying the LG. So the Amana had to come out, and the LG had to be moved around the corner into the laundry room into the Amana's place. With just the two of us I was thinking "how the heck are we going to do this without killing ourselves or wrecking the floor"! I remembered these and thought "for this price, let's try it" So in waiting for Lowes to deliver the new whirly, the Shoulder Dolly arrived. First we tried it on a very heavy wooden wine cabinet (full of wine) WOW, piece of cake! Then the real test. We had to get the Amana out, over the threshold, and down that stupid step every garage seems to have and into the garage. We strapped these things on, put the strap under the fridge and LIFTED THE DANG THING RIGHT OFF THE FLOOR! It was a bit top heavy but once we figured out where to put our hands, we easily lifted it out the door and into the garage. Just the two of us. By this time Lowes had come and gone and our brand new Whirly was sitting in the garage and looked like Godzilla..Sh*t, are we going to be able to do this? Well moving the LG (I know, long story, get a glass of wine) turned out to be a nightmare. The fridge was wider than the laundry room door so we had to take all the doors off and the drawer out (it's a three door French door model with ice maker/water in the door) What a PITA that was. When it was delivered it came in the front door which is 36" wide. So we got it moved to the laundry, then were faced with the new one. So either remove all five doors to go through the laundry room, or take it all the way around the front of the house, up on the porch, over the threshold and into the house via the wide front door..Yep..That's what we did. I took every part that would come off from inside the fridge to lighten it a bit (I think the shipping weight is somewhere around 400 pounds) and we decided to lift the fridge and have my mom slide a piano dolly under it. So here we go..1, 2, 3, LIFT! up that monster went, and mom slid the dolly under it. We managed to wheel it all the way around the house without it falling off the dolly and killing one of us then we were faced with lifting it one step up on the porch. So now we had to lift it high enough to get the piano dolly out, sit it back down to recoup then lift it again up on the porch and through the door. Well that went fine. It BARELY fit through the door by less than 1/2" so we wrapped it to protect it. These things are amazing. I don't recommend everyone to go out and move a monster fridge with it, but my point is those videos you see are real. No styrofoam washing machines! I wish I had discovered these years ago. Would have saved a lot of back wear! I actually have a youtube video that my mom did of us getting it up on the porch. Wish I could post it here! Best I could do were screen shots of the video on my phone. There is no piano dolly under the fridge in these pictures, we are carrying it.

Bought another famous brand which has 2 narrower straps and uses the forearms to lift. All I can say is putting the load on your shoulders is infinitely more forgiving to your upper body. My wife had some mild bruising on her skin from using the other style lift and this put all the weight on wide shoulder straps. The other device is a 3.5 out of 5. This is 5.0 out of 5 when lifting the same exact loaded freezer! Highly recommended! My other experience moving heavy appliances involves an appliance dolly which retail for over $140. While they are better for single person moves and moving up stairs, this is the best 2 person lifting design on the market. That being said, I have not attempted to use this on stairs and I am not sure I would try. Look for other reviews if you need to know about stair performance.

My husband and I just finished our first do-it-yourself cross country move. I was anxious about moving because I didn't know how we were going to move our heavy furniture. We have a large glass-front hutch, a HUGE Credenza and multiple dressers, and I am only 145 lbs with average arm strength. We didn't have the money to hire movers, so my husband suggested this. We got the hang of it pretty quickly. It's two harnesses that each person slips over their torso with a heavy duty metal slot to fit the webbing strap through. You place the strap under the object and feed the webbing through each harness and squat, then tighten the strap adjusting for height and weight of the object. There were a few objects that we still struggled with, simply because of their size, but we were able to get all the furniture in our home into the moving truck in about 4 hours, including padding and strapping down. Once we got to our new home, with the help of the shoulder dolly, we were able to unpack the truck in about 5 hours, boxes, furniture and all, and we moved a washer and dryer into our home easily. Maybe I should have mentioned this, but my husband and I also both have pretty severe back pain that is exacerbated when we lift or move improperly, and we have both hurt ourselves moving furniture in the past because of this. The Shoulder Dolly alleviated that and aside from general soreness from heavy lifting and sleeping on floors, we came out the other end of our move pain-free. If you have any doubts about this product, watch a few videos on how to make it work. It saved us hundreds of dollars in moving fees.

My girlfriend and I moved out of two houses and into one, and I'm extremely disappointed that we didn't get this thing before the move! After moving in, we wanted to buy a new fridge. We end up spending like 30 minutes hauling the thing from someone's house and into our garage. Since we already had a fridge, we had time to just let it sit in the garage. It then came to us to check out straps like these. Order placed! They arrive, and wow, they look so simple. Friction. Great! What can I say... it took us less than a minute to move this massive fridge out of the garage and into the house. It's amazing what being able to lift with your back provides compared to with your arms! The strap is wide enough so that even this 36"x30"x70" fridge was fairly well balanced (although maybe 2 straps would be slightly better?). This doesn't exactly multiply your strength, but if you can carry half the object's weight on your back, then a team of 2 can move an object with this system. The build quality seems top notch, and it's 100% worth it.

These things are an absolute MUST-HAVE for any homeowner! My husband and I have been able to move very heavy pieces of furniture utilizing this system that we would have NEVER been able to move otherwise. He's a big, strong guy (5'11") and I'm all of 5' nothing, and the straps worked with ease, including up and down tight stairways. I decided to spend a little more money on this system (versus some of the cheaper ones) because the middle carrying strap is 5" in width (as opposed to 3" with the cheaper ones) and I felt the wider strap would make items easier to balance as you are carrying them. Boy, was I right! If you have heavy items to move (and we move our furniture frequently), these things are worth their weight in gold! Easy to adjust as well. Get them - you won't regret it!

After deciding to not spring for movers, I purchased this product mostly for me since I'm the weakling in the relationship. I loathe moving. I hate floppy mattresses. Dressers that dig into your fingers. Taking a break every few steps on the stairs. All of it. Clearly - I was team "MOVERS!" and my husband was team "LET'S RALLY!" So I purchased this product and my husband nearly scoffed at me, but he entertained the idea and applauded my enthusiasm. Then: moving day happened. My husband and all of his friends giggled at first trying to put this thing on, mostly doing it as a joke to show me what a silly idea it was. Then - two men lifted a dresser made of solid wood that previously took 5 grown men to get into our home. And with these straps, only 2 men seamlessly lifted the dresser up and out of the house and up into a UHaul. That's all it took. One dresser. And everyone was hooked! These straps are AMAZING and made moving significantly easier than had we moved without them. At one point I quoted my husband telling his friend, "man - we couldn't have done this without these straps." One of his friends said, "I don't have anything to move and even I want to buy these - just in case." :-) And that's all the validation I needed :-)

Watched our delivery guys for our new refrigerator use similar apparatus. Two weeks later, time for about 1200 square feet of new carpet! So we picked up this Shoulder Dolly set to help with moving our stuff out of the carpeted area of the house for the carpet installers. Took a couple of lift tries before we got the hang of it, but what an easy way to clear furniture and with no real bending. You move the stuff standing upright and you can reposition it easily. You really have to try to bump walls when you use these straps. Both people can easily adjust their path to clear walls, doorways, obstacles, and negotiate corners. A tip: After the lift, using your hands (usually higher on the object) to push the object away from you (which is counterintuitive) raises and stabilizes the item further and allows for a better stride. (See pic #4 in the description) Just from a cost perspective, way cheaper than a hand truck (but it doesn't work well on big flights of stairs like a hand truck). Wish the set came with a storage bag, but these are well priced, totally worth the money, and very well made for home use.

It is very hard for me to help my husband move things because I am 5'2 and not as strong as him. However, with the help of these shoulder dolly straps, I was able to lift some very heavy items with my husband during our move. We moved a full chest freezer, heavy dresser and more. I am so thankful for this product because it saved both of our backs a lot of strain. My husband was not sure whether to buy this or not because it is not an item you use often. Was it worth the price? Even if you use it once or twice, it is so worth the price. A back injury is not a joke, and you will pay more to remedy a bad back then you will ever pay on this product. Be aware that even though it helped me carry heavier items, there were still limitations. These limitations were my limitations, not the products. I still couldn't carry a washing machine nor could I help my husband move something onto a higher platform. Since we have a huge height difference, every time he would step onto a ledge, my side would practically touch the floor. This is not a flaw in the product, but just things to be aware of if you are using this and are of similar height/strength.

This device made moving a couch so simple. We have a large sofa with built in recliners. We have always struggled to move it very far. As soon as you pick it up you want to set it back down. With the straps I could hold it with ease for at least 20 min. We were able to move it outside 250-300 feet without stopping and then able to move it into the house down a hall and into its final spot, all non stop. I’m sure without the straps we would have had to stop 3-4 times at least. Another added benefit is if you have to move something with someone of a different height what you are moving always tilts to the shorter person and makes things more difficult for them. With this what ever you are moving stays flat and even and the weight is shared equal between both people. I can easily recommend this if you need to move large items.
